Mark was born amongst the worlds best sand belt golf courses of the Mornington Peninsula in Melbourne and learnt his craft from former Royal Melbourne Professional Bruce Green.
Moving to Queensland, Mark turned Professional at 18 years of age completing his PGA Traineeship at Ipswich golf Club in 1983 under the guidance of former Qld PGA winner Peter Barry.
After a year of Playing on various Professional golf tours,Including the famous Troppo Tour in Queensland, Mark commenced as a Teaching Professional at Pacific Golf Club working for well known Touring professional Stewart Ginn before his first appointment as a club professional.
With over 25 years of experience as a PGA Professional attaining the highest level of accreditation AAA Mark has served at various golf clubs as Head Professional/Teaching Professional including stints at Bowen, Gympie Gladstone and Southport Golf Club and Lakelands on the Gold Coast.
Mark has coached and been a mentor for many students who today are PGA members and touring professionals themselves he is well known within the golfing industry as a patient Golf Coach who gets results from students while keeping it simple and fun to learn.
